Very Average Apr 08, 2007 I understand that this movie won several awards in India. It would never have happened in USA. I loved the music and dancing, I even enjoyed the two leading characters, but again, I have a problem with the writers. A physically identical person that does not share the same DNA is ridiculous. We are not talking about two men that look similar...we are talking exact replicas. No way did I buy it. The writers should have included a sub-plot with a twin that neither the mother nor father knew about, or that Rohit was somehow rescued from the river since the body was never recovered, and taken to New Zealand with no memory of his previous life. Something believable. I also wondered how Raj knew Rohit's mannerisms in scenes with his younger brother..you know the little hand thing over the face? And let's not forget how Raj (the look alike) performed on stage in front of thousands of Rohit fans without any practice or prior musical training. He danced in sync with the other dancers and we were supposed to buy all that? I think not. Released in the USA, the critics would have made mincemeat of it. Put an average-looking man in the lead instead of the beyond handsome Hrithik Roshan, and this movie would have bombed at the box office.

Loved It Feb 28, 2006 I was a bit appalled at the previous review. The music for this soundtrack has awesome dance tracks and sweet ballads. No, it's not "Indian music" in the classic sense, but neither is Christina Aguilera classic American music. Um, it's the 21st century, and India lives in it as well as the West, this is pop. Just because some of the songs have a taste of hip hop in them does not make them bad. Also, this is a soundtrack. Now, Bollywood is not a Western genre--it may take some getting used to from an American standpoint, but the story is adorable and it places the songs within their intended context.

Not a great music composition Dec 06, 2005 Seems some indian musician trying to sound like enigma and Linkin Park. Get yourself a break. Listen to original western music instead. If you want to listen to good Indian music I would recommend:
1)Bombay Theme from movie Bombay
2) Any of Pandit Ravishankars works.
3)Lagaan
I guess these are the some of the original works.
