Just got these in today. They definitely do well to remove the light. They have a very nice texture, and have good stitching. If you want absolute 100% blackout, these will go a long way to get you there (maybe use in conjunction with another layer). They do pretty well with absorbing sound as well, which is fairly important to me.
You get what you pay for. This is a mid-priced curtain. There are certainly better and heavier, but there are absolutely worse as well. This does a good job of fitting that mid-price range while providing good quality and service.

Not the soft luxurious velvet you think of, but a nice soft curtain/drape and excellent value for money. I bundled several together to get a thicker look, and probably still need more down the road, and will order these again.
